Teladoc's FAQ says its Medical Experts service provides medical information and does not create a doctor-patient relationship with the reviewing expert. Treatment decisions remain with the member and treating physician. TD-02

Who reviews the case?

The public product page says an expert medical provider reviews the existing diagnosis or plan, but it does not identify the eventual case reviewer on that page before matching. A member who needs reviewer-name disclosure should ask when the expert is selected and what credentials will appear in the final materials. TD-01, TD-05

This is a transparency question, not a judgment about the reviewer. Before opening any second-opinion case, ask whether the reviewing physician will be named, whether the person can request a particular subspecialty, and whether the report explains the basis for the conclusions.

How long does the service take?

The reviewed Teladoc Medical Experts product page and FAQ do not publish a standard turnaround in days. The time may depend on record collection, case scope, and expert availability. A member with a treatment deadline should request a case-specific estimate and clarify whether the estimate begins when the case opens or when all records are complete. TD-06

What is included—and what is not?

The published offer covers remote coordination and an expert review of an existing diagnosis or treatment plan. The FAQ separately states that downstream tests and treatment are not paid through the Expert Medical Opinion service. Frequently asked questions

Is Teladoc Expert Medical Opinion only available through an employer?

Teladoc's reviewed pages clearly describe members and eligible dependents. However, those pages do not conclusively say that an employer is the only possible sponsor or that direct purchase is impossible. The accurate consumer answer is to confirm eligibility with Teladoc or the relevant plan. TD-03, TD-04

Can I pay cash for Teladoc Expert Medical Opinion?

No. A remotely coordinated records review is not emergency care and should not delay urgent assessment.
